While I was waiting in class for the professor to come in, a girl stare at me for a while, she was thinking if she could ask me a personal question "why do I wear the scarf on my head?"
Well; its not the first time it happens, and i think alot of people are wonderring why do I wear it, its an issue need to be addressed.
the main idea about the Hijab - the scarf- is to cover all the body but not hands and face. some people thinks that Muslim women are forced to wear it by their parents, family or husband, that is misconceptions. In my country its normal thing to see a woman with a scarf on her head, but here in USA its not for alot of people.
I think God loves us that he makes us cover all our body but not face or hands, why?
I will tell you why in a few, but first I want to ask you a question; when you go to buy candy from the store, Do you like to buy the one it does not have a cover on it or the one has a cover? Why dont you buy the one it does not have a cover on? I think because its full of microbes and germs. Well yeah I agree with you on this one, no one likes to eat any opened candy full of germs and microbes, and have everyone touch it.
first of all its a religious reasons, Our Prophet Muhammad is quoted as saying: "If the woman reaches the age of puberty, no part of her body should be seen but this - and he pointed to his face and hands." basiclly its all about covering the women beauties like their hair, and among family and in front of their husband, Muslim women do not need to wear it. the hijab save the muslim women beauty. HIJAB SHOULD BE A SIGN OF PURITY AND DIGNITY. It is a sort of "screen" it protect Muslim women from the evil that exists in the world, it makes the women less likely to be harassed by men with lusty motives. less likely to be exploited for her beauty and feminity. thats why God loves us and want to protect us from any evil in the world.
Alot of people are cerous to know why I wear it, and after I tell them the reason, some people think I am crazy and the other like the idea. after all I am a Muslim and having the hijab on my head is one of my religion rules and I am proud to have it.
